Spartan-058

Spartan-058 in her Mjolnir "V" variant EVA armor. Got inspired from the Halo Universe.
Spartan-058 is also known as Linda. One of the thirty Spartan II's that fought in the "Fall of Reach". I'm doing more research to figure out her armor, then I'll finish the drawing off in painter and photoshop.

Nothing more than a color study.

Lucinda Kali

It's your basic classic pin-up. A scanned drawing using both photo-shop & painter. I was in downtown when I noticed this young Indian woman who graced in my path. Besides that she smelled great, dressed sexy, and noticed she had this reddish-brown healthy glow to her skin. I did a quick glance for a full three seconds, and memorized what she wore--- get as much visual info. Then quickly draw a "character" of her. Her pose is totally made-up.

But she didn't have the red dot on her forehead(called a bindi, by the way). I used it to sell the idea that she's Indian, I don't know if it's a good I idea or what? When I goggled the bindi, red means she's married, but I also found out it acts like a fashion accessory. Sometimes a jewel of some sort is used as well. I like using red, but if it's inappropriate to us please let me know.

Mall kids

I went to a local mall to people watch. Good thing about mall's that it attracts all sorts of people and to check out the street fashion, which nowaday's is a bit retro, like a mix of 70's, 80's, 90's I think. Just character's of people, as you look closely you can see that I used graph paper, cuz I forgot my to bring my sketchbook(Frac'in sin!).

If anybody's curious, I used a red color-erase by prisma and outlined using 2B graphite. Got question and comments? Let me know.

creature feature

The creature page! These are quick sketches while riding the bus to school while listening to slow jams(don't know why?). Listening to Rhianna or Ericka Badu or baby bash inspires the worst creatures I can possible think of (lol). Also I get more inspired out in about then at home. Home is like the "black hole" of creativity, sucks the life out of me.

Starting from the top left: Is the wendigo, parasite spider, fallen angel, sexually diseased hell-commando, tauran from the forever war, revamped Frankenstein characters, an ogre at the bottom.

Organ Meat

“Organ meat” was a person who committed suicide by jumping off high places. It will haunt a location where he perished only those who will commit suicide. Organ meat is a type of fetch, an apparition the appears before someone dies. Before suicide it appears and vomit it's organs, hence his name.

A scanned drawing using a combo of Photoshop and Painter.

Sweet dreams...

Irena Zaric

The character I illustrated is based on a book called “Pretty Birds” by Scott Simon. Her named is Irena Zaric. Set during the siege of Sarajevo, Irena and her family are brutalized and chased out of her home by Serb Para-military. In order for her to survive she steals from the dead to buy food, dodges bullets in her own home, risk her life to contact her best friend. Under the tutelage of rogues and heroes, Irena becomes a sniper.

According to the book, her uniform consist, from head to toe: Irena covers her head with a dark ski mask, paints her surrounding eyes with shoe polish to cover her exposed flesh. She wears a shemagh, Arab headdress (not mentioned in the book). I thought it would be a nice design element. Adorned in a mechanic's coverall as her basic uniform. Black gloves, again to hide most of her exposed flesh, except for her trigger finger, nail painted in purple (favorite color.). Wears a simple military belt, to carry extra ammo and food. Also fitted with Russian inspired combat boots. Irena's rifle of choice is the American made M-14, used during the Vietnam war, and still in use today. Chambers a 7.62mm round, kept nicely packed in a 20 round magazine. She also tapes up metal parts that can rattle and make noise, especial her rifle sling, in order to maintain noise discipline.

I painted her using a couple of software packages using Photoshop and Painter. And of course the illustration started off as a drawing. And then scanned to Photoshop.
